Solarly at Promote for the third year in a row!

Solarly was once again present at the Promote trade show which took place from February 19 to 27, 2022 at the Congress Palace of Yaoundé.

This event welcomes more than 1000 exhibitors from 30 different countries and sectors and represents a real opportunity for all entrepreneurs and companies, as it allows them to become better known thanks to their important media exposure, but also to make new acquaintances in the world of entrepreneurship and thus to establish new contacts.

The fair welcomed a Belgian delegation led by Awex and Hub Brussels. The economic mission started with a launching ceremony at the Franco Hotel around a breakfast where his Excellency Ambassador Eric Jacquemin welcomed us and gave us a short presentation of Cameroon.

We then went to our booth where we met several prospects interested in solar energy as an alternative to oil lamps, generators or thermal pumps as well as a solution to load shedding. This first day at the show allowed us to realize that there is still too little knowledge around the concept of solar energy, but that the interest is really present and that the market continues to grow and structure itself.

After a day rich in meetings with various partners and prospects, we participated in a conference on the EPA where we had a moment of exchange between members of the European delegation and private actors in Cameroon. Topics such as the business climate (brakes, obstacles, opportunities) and EU support measures for Cameroonian actors were discussed in order to facilitate compliance with European standards.

In parallel, two specific days on renewable energies were held with important themes such as access to financing or difficulties related to Covid. This allowed us to continue our exchanges with our partners and to meet new companies recently arrived on the market, as well as to exchange with key players of the OffGrid sector at the international level.

In general, the fair was very large with many different stands held by Cameroonian and international actors, artisans, SMEs and multinationals. We can say that there was a real diversity of the Cameroonian economic landscape. This third participation to the fair for Solarly was again a positive experience that allowed us not only to get better known, but also to make great encounters as well as to participate in interesting conferences.
